InfantSEE

Vision disorders are the most common handicapping condition of children.  Many of these problems can be prevented if detected early in life.  As we believe in healthy eye for life, we participate in the InfantSEE program.  This program provides free vision screenings for infants age 6 to 12 months.  This exam is quite different from exams for older children and adults.  It is designed to detect conditions that lead to delays or interference in normal vision development.  Amblyopia (lazy eye) is often the result of these missed conditions.  We also screen for retinoblastoma, a rare but potentially life threatening cancer of the eye.  This condition occurs in 1 in every 20,000 children, making it the tenth most common pediatric cancer.  For more information on the InfantSEE program, visit www.infantsee.org, and please share this information with all family and friends with infants.  It can truly change a child’s vision of the future.
