Michael Saxerud, O.D. and Gail Saxerud, O.D.  Dr. Mike was born and raised in North Dakota.  He attended North Dakota State University, where he received both a Bachelors and Master’s degree in Microbiology.  He then worked as a research specialist for 4 years, conducting research on bacterial processes of cellulose breakdown, prostate cancer, and infertility.  In 1992, he attended the Pacific University College of Optometry, graduation in 1996 with honors. Dr. Gail was born in Germany, the daughter of an Army dentist.  At age 2, her family moved to Colorado.  She attended school in Woodland Park, where she graduated in 1988.  She attended the University of Colorado – Boulder, and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor’s in Biology. In 1992, she attended the Pacific University College of Optometry, graduating in 1996 with honors. Dr. Mike and Dr. Gail were married following graduation from Optometry school.  They purchased a practice in Ely, Minnesota, where they practiced until 2004.  With the birth of their daughter in 2003, it was time to move closer to family.  They arrived in Colorado Springs in 2005.  Their son was born in 2006.  Dr. Mike has worked at both Colorado Eye Associates and Archdale Eyecare prior to opening Gleneagle Vision Center in September of 2007.  They are happy to again be working together providing their brand of personal service combined with the latest in diagnostic technology and treatment plans.
